Learn how divine feminine energy, intentional spaces, and the Crone’s wisdom can unlock creativity, foster self-reflection, and align you with nature’s rhythms.
Finding Creativity in Darkness
The light that comes from within is the only light she needs, along with the one emanating from her laptop screen, although she lowers the brightness as much as she can without blinding herself.
She turns on sad songs to set the tone although nothing is wrong. It’s just a process, it’s how she finds inspiration, she’s been this way since she was seven, and at 34 it’s still working. If it ain’t broke, it don’t need no fixin’.
Traveling within, meandering through vastness that could embody 10 planets, but she’s just a woman.
“I am just a woman. This is where I begin again…”
Before we get started, if you're new to working with the phases of divine feminine energy, here's some vocab to help your divine feminine journey and make this piece more meaningful!
Synchronizing with Nature and Divine Feminine Energy
The scene I see when I look outside during these cold days encapsulates the feeling I feel when I’m in the flow state. It’s a steady state of peace that demands warmth, attention, and quiet.
It’s a special kind of stillness. It’s the safety I felt as an abused child hiding in my room writing my days away. I would create worlds for myself to feel safe in, friends who understood, and the physical beauty I swore I lacked.
Just because I’ve grown up, healed myself, and stopped being depressed, doesn’t mean this inner need to escape has vanished. It’s just taken on a different form, one rooted in divine feminine energy.
Escaping to Align
Through this intentional escapism, I become the Crone. The Wise Woman within, my magic, and intuition. Her divine feminine energy keeps me on track and aligned with my dreams while I follow the path She leads.
She helps me to know more about myself and She helps me see beyond myself too. Through our sessions, I recognize patterns within myself that need breaking, strengthen myself to continue living a self-empowered life, and become a bigger inspiration and more effective healer for myself and others. This state is both a school and unchartered territory that I meander through, exploring my spiritual landscape like a newly discovered island.
Unlocking Creativity: How I Created a Sacred Crone Cave to Thrive in Darkness
My girl cave, which doubles as my office is intentionally decorated like spring. I have ivy and flowers hanging from the walls. Plus, the room itself is naturally the brightest in the house, always welcoming light in, even on gray stormy days.
Last year, before learning everything I’d just explained, I decorated the room this way to combat seasonal depression during the colder months when I was hiking less and bummed out by how drab nature tends to look.
On that note, wanna learn more about the ways hiking has enhanced my spiritual growth? Read about how I use hiking as a meditation for self-discovery here and how hiking with my partner has empowered my inner child here. As far as divine feminine energy goes, these two pieces embody the Maiden.
Correcting My Previous Misunderstandings
Focusing on the Crone for this essay; I’ve come to understand why I’ve felt myself experience deep rebirths during both extended periods in dark spaces and shorter pockets in the dark during my daily meditation and journaling sessions.
Additionally, I’ve gained an understanding of my need for a more expansive dark sanctuary in my home to cultivate these weekly newsletters, write more books, and lean into other writing projects during which I let the Crone take over. So, I spent part of the afternoon today creating a cozy writing space in a dark corner of my and my partner’s bedroom.
Ambiance, Alignment & Archetypes
I also had two pieces of art that I really love but never hung because they didn’t fully fit the spring/summer Maiden/Mother divine feminine energy aesthetic in my room, but they embody this new space I created beautifully.
The picture below is of the original setup with the rug, pillow, and desk in my brighter room. I coincidentally took it while I was working last week. Now, just picture it moved into a creepy dark corner. Since it is a sacred space, I won’t share pictures of the actual Crone Cave or the other dark little island that I described earlier.
Ambiance is everything. Today, I feel like my writing is flowing better as I sink into the dark divine feminine energy of my new Crone Cave. It’s truly a gift.
