The Subtle Art of Using Manifestation Journals for Law of Attraction Journaling

If you’re new to working with manifestation journals for law of attraction journaling, there are a few things you need to know before you get started.

For one, this usually isn’t an instant fix.

Sometimes you will manifest quickly, maybe within a few days or hours. But there are other times when you may night see your end goal come to fruition for a year or more. Then, there’s a third scenario where it might not happen at all.

Don’t get bummed out, these are actually good things! In this article, I’ll break that entire process down and share some law of attraction journaling tips.

Before You Dive into Your Manifestation Journal, Read This!

In order for you to manifest your desires, you have to be in alignment with them. It doesn’t matter if you’re focused on law of attraction journaling 24-7. If your head isn’t in the right place, it won’t work.

You have to be in a vibration that matches your outcome and wanting it really bad isn’t enough.

You have to feel confident that it is yours to the point that your faith in this outcome is unshakable. Also, it has to be a good fit that makes sense for your overall journey.

Before I go into my story– If you read this blog regularly, you know there’s always a story. And if you’re new here, welcome!

But before I go into that, I want to give you a few things to think about.

  • Sometimes we don’t receive the things we think we want because they aren’t in our best interest. This usually means we’re being protected or prepared for something even better.
  • When we start working with our manifestation journals, we are opening our energy and minds to start moving toward our best possible outcome. This can mean that the end goal won’t manifest right away because there’s work that we need to do first.
  • To manifest successfully, you need to have blind faith and trust in the unknown.
  • You may feel like you’re losing things, people, or parts of yourself during your law of attraction journaling journey and it can make you feel upset or like things aren’t working. You’re not doomed. The Universe is making space in your life for the things that will serve you best.

Bottom line: just because things don’t always seem like they’re all sunshine and roses from your point of view, it doesn’t mean you need to prepare for doomsday.

Remember, that while you have the power to create your perfect life, you’re not always able to see every little detail. Sometimes you have to fall in order to learn to fly. And you might have to lose in order to gratefully receive.

My Real-Life Law of Attraction Story

When I first started working with manifestation journals, I had just lost the best relationship I’d ever known and I was desperate to get it back.

I can't tell you how many rabbit holes I dove down between Google and YouTube searches. Believe it or not, that's actually how I learned that manifesting was even a thing.

In the beginning, I applied everything I learned and I felt confident that my ex, let's call him Richard, would return on bended knee with a ginormous ruby ring begging me to take him back.

Richard did come back. And like my fantasy, he was very different.

I'm struggling to find the words to describe it, really. It seems like something within him snapped or woke up during our time apart.

There was a lot of gaslighting involved for sure and he didn't seem mentally or emotionally stable.

I (thankfully) never saw him in person, but his texts made me feel extremely uncomfortable, unsafe, and angry.

I’ll spare you all of the crazy details, but the gist of it is that I got over the thought of reconciling shortly after he resurfaced.

But unfortunately, he still decided to harass me for a full year after that.

During that year, I dated casually here and there and did a deep dive into my healing journey. Things started to make sense when I learned about codependency.

I learned that my childhood trauma made me a codependent adult who loved unstable relationships with narcissists. I saw Richard and every man I loved before him when I read about narcissistic abuse.

I worked my ass off to heal that wound and I kept going from there.

I ended up on a beautifully liberating and painful road to self-love and self-discovery.

I became a different woman. I focused my attention on healing my inner wounds and creating a happier more carefree life for myself.

I broke through the barriers, insecurities, and limiting beliefs [Learn my exact process in my new virtual course, "Overcome Self-Limiting Beliefs with Self-Love."] that were keeping me stuck and causing me to continue repeating the same toxic cycles.

With this work, I stopped drinking like a fish and started to discover and process my emotions in healthy ways.

I broke out of my codependent loops and finally began to feel whole and confident without needing validation from a man. I actually spent most of that time completely single and dating myself.

This is also when I tapped into my purpose and launched the first incarnation of my business, an Etsy store called Journaling is Self-Care where I sold inspirational journals for women like the ones you here. This version of the store is way better though!

I met my current partner shortly after that. He is the kindest, most supportive, and loving man I’ve ever known. I feel safe enough to share my deepest fears and dreams with him and we laugh and have a good time too.

We uplift one another and truly live as partners and teammates.

I never had this with Richard or anyone else.

Considering I never saw examples of healthy marriages and relationships in my family as I was coming up, I didn’t even know this type of relationship existed.

After starting my law of attraction journaling practice, I was guided to get to a place where I loved myself and understood that I had been selling myself short all my life. I wouldn’t have been an energetic match for this type of relationship without it.

Do you remember the bullet points from earlier?

Let’s revisit them because they’re important. They can make or break your law of attraction journaling experience.

  • You may feel like you’re losing things, people, or parts of yourself during your manifestation journey and it can make you feel upset or like things aren’t working. You’re not doomed. The Universe is making space in your life for the things that will serve you best.

Now that you know how all of this works, let’s get you started on your manifestation journal journey. Next, I’m going to share some techniques you can use.

Law of Attraction Journaling Tips and Techniques

I don’t sell guided manifestation journals on my website. While you’ll find personal love letters from me on the inner cover of my journals, they are all filled with blank lined pages on the inside.

Why? Because we all think differently and we’re constantly evolving. So, allowing you to have blank space to fill how you see fit depending upon your mood or the place you are in your journey just makes sense to me.

I want to provide guidance and advice while also inspiring free thinking. So, have fun and get creative with these and all the other journaling techniques I share on this blog.

Fearless experimentation is one of the best ways you can learn what processes really work for you. It helps build confidence and self-trust too.

With that said, I hope you find something that resonates with you here today in my law of attraction journaling tips below.

The Wish List

How can you ask for what you want if you haven’t spent time thinking about it?

That’s what you’ll do with this exercise. Write a list of exactly what you want and get so specific that you can see it in your mind’s eye as you’re writing your list.

Don’t be shy, try being as open and honest as possible. Put on your vulnerability hat.

If you’re worried about making things perfect or if the small details overwhelm you, chill out and take a breath.

Have faith in this piece of information: You’re placing an order with The Universe here and when it delivers, it will give you an even better version of what you asked for.

Remember, my heart ached for Richard and when I started using law of attraction journaling to get him back, The Universe taught me how to love myself, start a business, AND gave me a guy who was 10x better than the one I’d asked for!

To get started, think about the basics and build up from there.

Like in a house, I think we can all agree that we want to feel safe and have working heat and air, right? Start there, then get all fancy and go into the cool light fixtures and custom tile you saw on Pinterest.

The ‘I Already Have What I Want’ Visualization

Once you know what you want, you can have some fun and get into what your life will be like once it manifests.

Let's say, for example, you're working toward being able to take a big luxurious vacation. Go into detail about it.

Write about the foods you would eat on that trip, the types of clothes you’ll wear, the sights you’re most excited about seeing, and the new activities you want to try.

Write in the present tense as if it’s currently happening. Paint yourself a vivid picture and have a good time.

Set a good mood for yourself too! Light your favorite candle or maybe even play music in the background that’s similar to what you’ll hear during your trip. Really take yourself there.

Law of attraction journaling isn't homework and shouldn't feel dreadful.

The same rules apply to a day-to-day type of lifestyle shift.

If you want a new job, for instance, write about how your life will be once you've been offered the position.

What are the personalities of the coworkers you’d like to manifest? Are there free snacks in the breakroom? How do you feel now that you’re finally doing work that excites you? What can you do with this job that you weren’t able to do before?

Once you’ve completed this exercise, read over what you wrote every day. The repetition will allow it to become familiar and natural.

With it, you will also see your actions and thoughts begin to change in order to support the outcome you’re asking for.

The Gratitude List

When you are grateful for the things you already have in your life, you attract more things to be grateful for. A regular gratitude practice also has a number of other benefits like increased happiness, less anxiety, and more life satisfaction.

You can practice gratitude in many different ways too. Read my article, "Let Me Show You the Secrets of Tapping into an Attitude of Gratitude" for more of that information.

When it comes to law of attraction journaling, one of my favorite ways to use gratitude is keeping track of positive things you’ve received. I learned this tip from "Sacred Success" by Barbara Stanny.

I like this approach because everything we do in our lives is a result of the law of attraction, even if you reading this blog post.

So, keeping up with a daily list of positive things you’ve attracted gives you all of the amazing benefits of gratitude and it shows you how well you’re already doing on your manifestation journal journey.

The ‘Act as If’ Exercise

This one really doesn’t have anything to do with manifestation journals or law of attraction journaling. It’s more of a mindset shift, but as with all mindset shifts, journaling can help make the transition easier.

When you want something, it’s easy to feel bummed out about not having it. And a lot of people get into a headspace where they don’t allow themselves to feel happy until they have the exact thing they want.

This is a big mistake.

A negative lacking mindset will only attract more negativity and feelings of lack.

Instead, live your life with as many elements of your manifestation as you possibly can before your vision comes to fruition.

For example, let’s say the dream home you’re manifesting has a nice deck with a comfy chair where you plan to spend time reading, enjoying the fresh air, and soaking up the sun but your current home doesn't have a nice outdoor space like that.

You can take your book to a park in a quieter neighborhood. This isn't exactly what you've hoped for because it isn't your own property, but it still allows you to tap into the satisfaction of your dream unfolding.

And when you travel, stay in a place that has a private balcony or something where you can, once again, act as if you’re already living in that dream home.

You don’t have to wait for any particular event to take place for you to start living your life. Start living it now, grab as much happiness as you can, and be grateful for it.

Your outcomes will change to match your new positive, abundant feeling energy. Plus, YOLO.

Remember that law of attraction journaling doesn’t begin and end with one single journal entry.

You may even fill a couple of manifestation journals before you receive your desired outcome and that’s completely fine.

It really is a sign that you are manifesting something bigger and better than your wildest dreams, which takes preparation.

Sometimes we underestimate what we truly deserve and The Universe sets us straight by putting us through transformations that allow us to receive even bigger. Don’t give up on your law of attraction journaling journey. Your dreams are already closer than you realize!
