When "All Work and No Play" Leads to Burnout
We get what we put into things. So, as an ambitious independent woman, I fully agree with having a strong focus and an even stronger hustle. But when I launched my company, Journaling is Self-Care LLC, while working a full-time job and trying to maintain good health and a social life, I learned the hard way that my hustle is sometimes too intense.
Like, scary intense.
I started to experience several symptoms of burnout:
- Deep irritation and mood swings
- Exhaustion and restlessness
- Anxiety, depression, and racing thoughts
Living with those symptoms was terrifying. But everything we do is a reflection of our mindset. I turned inward, leaned on my spiritual practice, and found clarity using journal questions and daily journaling.

3. Reflect on How Far You’ve Come
Revisit an old journal entry. Reflect on the growth, lessons, and shifts you’ve experienced since then. This prompt is great for turning your journaling practice into a time capsule and makes daily journaling feel like a celebration instead of a chore.
